AWARDS
An AEO earns the Grover Loening Aerospace Award
if they complete Senior Member Training Level III.
An AEO earns the Yeager Award and receives a ribbon
and a certificate if they complete the Aerospace Education Program for
Senior Members.
Considering Specialty Track 215,
an AEO who:
- earns the Technician rating and can wear the
Aerospace Education Badge.
- earns the Senior rating adds a bronze star to
their badge.
- earns the Master rating replaces the bronze star
with a gold star to their badge and receives the A Scott Crossfield
Award (ribbon and certificate).
NATIONAL CONGRESS CROWN CIRCLE FOR AEROSPACE
EDUCATION LEADERSHIP AWARD
Established in 1979, the Crown Circle is the highest
award of the National Congress on Aviation and Space Education (NCASE).
Induction into Crown Circle [always as part of the National Congress program]
is one of the most prestigious honors bestowed worldwide in the field
of aerospace education.
Nomination packages are sent to National Headquarters and must be postmarked
by 1 January. Refer to CAPR 280-2, Para 4c and CAPP15, pp 44-46.
A. SCOTT CROSSFIELD AEROSPACE EDUCATION TEACHER OF THE YEAR AWARD
Established in 1986 by aviation pioneer A. Scott
Crossfield, this award recognizes and honors classroom teachers for their
outstanding accomplishments in aerospace education and for their dedication
to the students they teach. It is presented as during NCASE. Nomination
packages for this award must reach National Headquarters no later than
1 February.

FRANK G. BREWER – CIVIL AIR PATROL MEMORIAL AEROSPACE AWARDS
CATEGORY I --- CAP CADET
These awards must be written only for accomplishments in the previous
calendar year.
CATEGORY II --- SENIOR MEMBER
These awards must be written only for accomplishments in the previous
calendar year.
CATEGORY III --- INDIVIDUAL or ORGANIZATION (non-CAP)
These awards are for accomplishments over a continuous period of up to
ten years.
CATEGORY IV --- LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT (every five years)
This award is for accomplishments over a period of more than twenty years.
Refer to CAPR 280-2 and CAPP15 for more specific
information on the above categories.
Brewer nominations are due to Wing Headquarters by
1 February. Region submits its selections to National by 15 March.
National Brewer Awards are presented at the summer National Board.
AE MISSION AWARDS
- Recognize the top wing in each region
- Recognize the top three wings in the nation
Selection is based on evaluation of the Wing Activity
Report in the following categories:
- Wing staff training
- Yeager awards
- Internal program support
- External program support
- Workshops and training courses
- Participation in the Excellence Award Program
- Participation in NCASE
- Submission of award nominations
Points are earned by measured performance in four
major aerospace education mission areas:
- staffing
- internal program
- external (outreach) program
- AE Plan of Action
The annual Wing Aerospace Education Activity
Report provides the information used to determine points earned. Details
regarding submission of the annual AE Activity Report are found in CAPP
15.
